编者按:
2011年11月,由北京故宫博物院、中国古陶瓷学会、福建省文物局、德化县人民政府共同主办的“2011中国瓷都・德化窑学术研讨会”在瓷都德化举办,近百位国内外博物馆馆长、从事陶瓷文化研究的专家学者齐聚瓷都德化,以“中国白的故乡、瓷艺术的摇篮”为主题,共同研讨深厚的德化窑陶瓷文化。
研讨会共提交专题论文39篇,其中不乏外国专家的作品。与会的专家学者以翔实的图文史料为佐证,从学术专业的角度对德化窑在国内外陶瓷文化领域的历史地位和影响做了全面深刻的阐述,是一笔难得的、丰硕的学术成果。
近期,《外国人眼中的“中国白”》栏目将再次回顾刊载该研讨会的相关论文,并对其中的论文进行翻译,为广大德化陶瓷文化研究爱好者提供学习、交流、参考。
The Baur Foundation's collection of Dehua porcelains(三)

The trapezoid body of a vase(18th or 19th century)introduces another repertoire of form deriving from metal shapes(fig.5).The vase, with a spreading foot and stepped, glazed base, has a tall slender neck on which are set a pair of rectangular handles with free pendant rings. The glaze has a bluish tinge.

The perfect fusion between body and glaze that produces the typical Blanc de Chine surface appearance can be seen in three fine pieces:an incense burner, a wine-pot and a pipe.
胎釉结合的完美使独特的“中国白”瓷的表面独显其色,在三件精美的作品中可见,他们是一件香炉,一件酒壶和一件笛子。分别介绍如下:
Of archaic tripod ding form, with a pair of upright arched handles on the rim and three pierced flanges on the sides, the incense burner(late 17th century)stands on three feet decorated with raised ovals and studs(fig.6).The sides are impressed with archaic bronze style designs of long-tailed birds on a ground of key-fret. The glaze is cream-white and on the base is a raised square with an indecipherable stamped seal.
图6:17世纪末香炉,古典的三足鼎型,侧缘有一对称的直拱耳,三条凸缘从两耳穿过。三足有椭圆形和钉钮形浮雕装饰,周边在回纹图上印贴有长尾鸟等古典青铜器的装饰。釉色奶白,底部雕有一方形字迹不清的印章。

In the shape of a two-lobed gourd with long tapering spout and flat handle, the wine pot(late 17th century)is covered with a flat lid attached to the handle with a silver chain, added in Europe(fig.7).The cream-white glaze covers the base, on which there is firing grit. The inside of the wine pot is unglazed.

The pipe(18th century)is in the form of three linked, overlapping sections of bamboo cane and one end provides the mouthpiece(fig.8). The glaze has a bluish tinge.
